
Terriers Take Third Place at Patriot League Championships

Annapolis, Md. - Sophomore David Oluwadara won two events while senior Ethan Knight and junior Kevin Thomas were also victorious as the Boston University men's track & field team finished third at the Patriot League Championships at Navy on Sunday.
The Terriers were led by Oluwadara who won both the triple jump and the long jump and was named Male Field Athlete of the Year by the Patriot League following the meet. Oluwadara claimed his first victory in the long jump on Saturday with a 7.05m (23' 1.75") effort and added to his medals on Sunday in the triple jump with a 14.91m (48' 11") leap.
Knight took first place in the shot put with a winning toss of 17.48m (57' 4.25"), out distancing second-place finisher Thomas Buffone of Navy (16.93).
Thomas finished first in the finals of the 3000m run with a time of 8:13.81, just ahead of second-place finisher Brian De La Mora of Navy (8:14.82).
Senior Rich Peters took second in the 1 mile with a time of 4:13.12 just behind Bucknell's Andrew Garcia-Garrison (4:12.42) and ahead of BU junior Stuart Ross, who finished fourth (4:16.01).
Junior David Lagerberg took second in the 400m with a time of 48.54 while sophomore Cameron Williams was second in the 200m with a time of 21.09.
The Terriers finished the meet with a total of 136 points, in third place behind Patriot League Champion Navy (228.50) and Bucknell (146.25). The 136 points were 27 more than the Terriers earned last year when they finished fourth.
BU will next host the New England Championships on Feb. 27 and 28 at the Track and Tennis Center.
