
Terriers Blank Colgate, 7-0

BOSTON - Competing in its first conference match of the dual season, the Boston University men's tennis team claimed a 7-0 sweep against Colgate on Sunday afternoon at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
The Terriers (2-0) won two of three doubles contests for the first point and then claimed 12 of 14 sets in singles action for the victory over the Raiders (5-5).
Four sophomores led BU in the dominating performance. After teaming with classmate Jake De Vries for an 8-5 win in No. 3 doubles, Jay Leelavanich posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. De Vries was also victorious, dropping just four games in the No. 6 slot for the 6-1, 6-3 win.
The other two sophomores, Lucas Bombonatti and Mario Sandoval, claimed an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles and then posted singles wins at No. 4 (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) and No. 5 (6-4, 7-5), respectively.
Junior Stefan Lemire matched De Vries' effort at No. 2 singles in a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 victory. Classmate William Kwok completed the sweep with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-4 win in the top slot.
The Terriers will next hit the road and visit #25 Harvard on Saturday (Feb. 28) at 5 p.m.
