HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Terriers had an 17-3 shot advantage in the first half but entered the locker room scoreless, and only the Navy keeper had to make stops in the period, finishing the first half with two saves.
  • It took until the 74th minute to break the scoreless draw, as Felix De Bona took a header that hit the crossbar, but it was quickly rebounded by Nicki Weiners to ultimately ensure the victory and more games this season.
  • Navy desperately sought the equalizer by more than doubling the shot attempts in the second half compared to the first but Matt Gilbert only needed to make one save to preserve the shutout.

GAME NOTES
  • BU outshot Navy, 23-11 including 4-1 on target. BU's shot advantage was helped by eight earned corners, as the Terriers took shots on all but two of them.
  • BU has now recorded five shutouts in the last six contests with four taking place at home.
  • Matt McDonnell and De Bona dominated in the attacking third, finishing the game with five shots apiece while Anthony Viteri contributed four.
