Breiner Named to Academic All-PL Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Courtney Breiner of the Boston University women's cross country team was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced on Tuesday.

This honor caps a terrific sophomore season for Breiner. She was a Second Team All-Patriot League selection after finishing 12th at the conference championship. She posted two top-five finishes - a third-place finish at the Nassaney Invitational and a fourth-place performance at the Rothenberg Run - and also improved her position by over 50 places at the NCAA Northeast Regional, finishing 49th.. Breiner also took 14th at the CCSU Mini Meet and 26th at the New England Championship.

In the classroom, Breiner earned a 3.74 grade-point average as a psychology major. To qualify for inclusion in an Academic-All Patriot League squad, an athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 GPA and have competed in at least 50 percent of his or her team's events. Breiner was voted to the squad in her first year of eligibility by the league's sports information directors, as freshmen are not recognized for this honor.
