
Homan Qualifies for NCAA Quarterfinals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior Ethan Homan of the Boston University men's track & field team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 800m run at the the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Preliminary Championships hosted by the University of North Florida.
Homan, competing at the East prelims for the first time, advanced to Friday's quarterfinal thanks to a personal-best time of 1:48.28. He finished 13th among the 48 competitors and will race on Friday night at approximately 7:15 p.m.
Three other Terrier men competed on Friday in Jacksonville. Senior David Lagerberg was edged for a spot in the quarterfinals in the 400m dash, as he finished fourth in his heat with a personal-best time of 46.90 seconds. Lagerberg will compete on Saturday in the 4x100m relay.
Graduate student Nikolaos Farmakidis closed out a sensational collegiate career in the pole vault with a mark of 4.85 meters on Thursday. This was the Academic All-Patriot League selection's second straight trip to the East prelims.
Freshman Alexander Seal concluded his terrific rookie campaign on Thursday in the 1,500m run. He finished with a time of 3:47.79. His best time of the season was 3:42.35.
In addition to Homan, junior Cameron Williams will compete tomorrow in the 200m dash. Williams' event will start at approximately 8:25 p.m.
