
BU Completes Day One of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, PA - The Boston University men's track & field team competed on the first day of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell on Friday.
BU is in fifth place after six events with a total of 17 points. The Terriers combined for four top-10 finishes and five other athletes qualified for finals on Saturday.
Three Terriers qualified for Saturday's 200m dash final, led by junior Cameron Williams. He outpaced everyone with a time of 20.96 seconds in Friday's prelims. Senior David Lagerberg (21.25) and sophomore Jordan Love (21.39) also advanced to the final, with Lagerberg securing a personal best.
Love and Williams will also run in the final of the 100m dash on Saturday thanks to their strong times in Friday's prelims. Williams was fourth with a time of 10.55 seconds while Love crossed the finish line in 10.79 seconds. Sophomore Cameron Nurse (10.91) and junior Bruce Greene (11.33) also competed in the prelims, with Nurse turning in a personal-best time.
Freshman Robie Webster qualified for Saturday's 110m hurdles final with a time of 15.01 seconds, which matches his personal best while junior Cullin Burdett began Friday with a personal-best time of 31:40.8 in the 10,000m run.
The Terriers picked up all their points on Friday in field events. Graduate student Nikolaos Farmakidis finished third in the pole vault with a height of 4.95 meters (16' 2.75") while senior Reuben Horace finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.90 meters (183' 5"). Junior David Oluwadara was fifth in the long jump thanks to a leap of 6.99 meters (22' 11.25"), with classmate Tyler Malone (6.69m 21' 11.5") taking ninth.
Freshman Pablo Colon earned the first points of the weekend for the Terriers with his mark of 56.82 meters (186' 5") in the javelin. Senior Devin Lattrell (49.52m 162' 6") also competed in the javelin while junior Brian Shaefer was ninth in the pole vault (4.55m 14' 11").
Sophomore Jason Biesma is third after the first day of the decathlon with a score of 3252. Senior Matt Belikov is seventh with a total of 2501 points. The duo will begin Saturday's schedule with the conclusion of the decathlon at 9 a.m.
