Terriers Open Fall Schedule at UConn Invitational

STORRS, Conn. – Highlighted by senior Jake De Vries' singles flight runner-up finish, the Boston University men's tennis team kicked off the 2016 fall schedule at the three-day UConn Invitational over the weekend.
De Vries collected wins over Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac and Bryant to reach the finals of the C Flight. He won the first-set tiebreaker against Quinnipiac's Austin Yannone, but the Bobcat rallied to pull out a 6-7(9), 6-0, 10-7 win.
Freshman Marc Sable had a solid debut in the B Flight, as he won the consolation bracket with a three-set win over Bryant (3-6, 6-2, 10-5). Senior Mario Sandoval posted a pair of victories to advance to the semifinals of the winners' bracket but came up just short to Quinnipiac, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5.
