Terriers Compete at ITA Northeast Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – Highlighted by senior Lucas Bombonatti's singles and doubles win in the main draw, the Boston University men's tennis team continued the fall schedule at the ITA Regional Championships presented by Oracle.
Bombonatti claimed his first-ever singles win in the main draw at the ITAs by rallying from a match point deficit to a 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-3 victory over Niagara's Felipe Fuentes. He was then eliminated by Columbia's 113th-nationally ranked Victor Pham, 6-0, 6-0, in the Round of 64. He also teamed with sophomore Satyajit Simhadri for an 8-3 doubles win over Fordham before falling to Dartmouth (8-5) in the Round of 32.
Freshman Marc Sable was one match away from joining Bombonatti in the main singles draw but dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(3) decision to NIT's Lukas Zvikas after his 6-4, 6-3 straight-sets win over Lehigh's Jack Martin Dyer.
The Terriers will next conclude the fall schedule at the Bryant Invitational on Oct. 29-30.
