Terriers Remain in Third Heading Into Final Day of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Boston University men's swimming & diving team recorded five top-four finishes to remain in third place following the third day of the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
The Terriers currently own 337.5 points, 40.5 points ahead of No. 4 Bucknell. Defending champion Navy leads with 542 points, and Army sits in second with 508 points.
Junior Garrett Chin opened the evening with a fourth-place finish in the 400 IM at 3:53.24. Sophomore Judson Balding just missed out on joining Chin in the A final but did manage to gain valuable points for the Terriers by winning the B final at 3:56.96 for a ninth-place finish overall.
Junior Quinn Smith (100 fly, 48.19), sophomore Trevor Winans (200 free, 1:38.51) and senior Daniel Andronov (100 breast, 54.50) all posted identical third-place finishes in their respective events. Sophomore Matt Traub later took ninth in the 100 back by winning the B final at 49.97.
In the final event of the evening, Smith, Traub, Andronov and senior Brian Habacivch teamed together for a fourth-place finish in the 200 free at 1:20.44.
The Terriers will head back into the pool on Saturday for the final day of competition with prelims beginning at 10 a.m.
