CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - In a hard-fought crosstown matchup that featured four three-set singles contests, the Boston University men's tennis team came up short at Boston College, 6-1, on Friday evening.

MATCH NOTES

The Eagles swept the Terriers in doubles action by a combined score of 19-10.
Seniors Jake De Vries and Mario Sandoval were edged at line 2 in a tiebreaker for the 7-6 loss.
BC won five singles points with straight-set victories at lines 3 and 5.
The Eagles held on to defeat senior Lucas Bombonatti (#1), senior Jay Leelavanich (#2) and freshman Marc Sable (#4) in three-set decisions.
Sandoval claimed BU's lone point at the No. 6 slot with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 victory.

The Terriers will next face Navy on Saturday (Feb. 18) at MIT with a 5 p.m. start time.
BU will be facing the Midshipmen for the first time since getting eliminated in the 2015 PL Semifinals.
