
Davidson Wins Silver in Day 2 of PL Championships

RESULTS
BOSTON - Highlighted by a silver medal performance in the 5000m run by freshman Brett Davidson, the Boston University men's track & field team competed in day two of the Patriot League Championships on Saturday at BU's Track & Tennis Center.
Davidson finished 2nd in the 5000m run with a time of 14:23.46, setting a new personal best time to win a silver medal.
Also winning a medal for the Terriers was Jason Biesma, who won bronze in the heptathlon. Biesma finished 3rd in the two-day multi event with a score of 4735 to earn BU 6 team points.
The Terriers also had several impressive semifinal performances in Day 2 dash events. In the 60m dash, Justin Flynn (6.89 ) and Jordan Love (6.92) both easily finished in the top 9 to advance to Sunday's finals. All-American senior Cam Williams had a false start in the event and was disqualified.
Williams came back strong later in the meet to post the fastest time on the 200m dash (20.90), easily qualifying for the finals. Williams is the PL and BU record holder in the event with a time of 20.58, set at last year's PL Championships. Also qualifying for the finals in the 200m was freshman Chiebuka Onwuzurike (21.74) and Jordan Love (21.81).
In the field, senior David Oluwadara finished fourth in the long jump with a 7.00m (22' 11.75") effort. Oluwadara will compete in the triple jump on Sunday looking to defend his Patriot League crown in the event.
Day 3 of the PL Championships will begin at 10 a.m. with the pole vault competition. Running events are schedule to begin at 12 p.m. with the women's 1-mile run.
Through 6 scored events, BU is in fifth place with 25 points.
