Winans Earns PL Academic All-League Nod

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Trevor Winans of the Boston University men's swimming and diving team has been named to the Patriot League Academic All-League team, as announced by the league office Friday.
A political science major from Orland Park, Illinois, Winans broke two schools records at the Patriot League championships. He opened the weekend breaking the 200 free mark during the 500 free relay, and broke his own record the following day with a second-place finish in the 500 free. Winans also placed third in the individual 200 free and guided the Terriers to clock in third overall in the 400 medley relay.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
