ALLSTON, Mass. – Concluding the regular season, the Boston University men's tennis team claimed a 4-2 win over Colgate on Sunday afternoon at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center.

MATCH NOTES

The Terriers lost the doubles point but rallied for the team win by capturing four singles points, including two in straight sets.
Seniors Mario Sandoval and Jake De Vries posted a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while the Raiders claimed the same score at No. 1 doubles.
The Raiders jumped out to a 1-0 lead by edging freshmen Marc Sable and J.P. Avila, 6-4, in the No. 3 slot.
Both sophomore Satyajit Simhadri (#2) and Sandoval (#3) dropped just six games apiece in straight-set victories, while Colgate pulled out a 7-6(6), 6-2 win against senior Lucas Bombonatti at line 1.
After losing doubles, Sable and Avila held off late charges from their respective singles opponents in three sets to give BU the team victory.
Sable posted a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win at line 5, while Avila claimed a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory in the No. 6 slot.
De Vries was in a three-set deadlock at line 4 when his match was called, 4-6, 6-2, 4-4.

NEXT UP

The Terriers will seek their third semifinal berth in four Patriot League tournaments when they face an opponent to be determined in the quarterfinals on Friday (April 21).
Navy will serve as host for the tournament, which will take place Friday – Sunday.
BU last won a conference title in 1996 and has yet to claim an automatic NCAA berth.
