BOSTON - Seeking its first Patriot League title, the fourth-seeded Boston University men's tennis team will open the conference tournament against Colgate on Friday with action slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Navy's USNA Tennis Courts.
In the event of inclement weather, competition will move indoors to the Tose Family Tennis Center.
The Terriers enter the event at 9-15 with a 2-2 mark against Patriot League competition. They posted a 4-3 win over No. 2 Navy for their first victory against the Midshipmen since joining the conference before falling to No. 3 Lehigh (4-3) and No. 1 Army (4-1), who is the defending conference champion.
BU won its last two matches of the regular season, a 6-1 victory over Bryant and a hard-fought 4-2 decision against No. 5 Colgate. Senior Lucas Bombonatti is a three-time PL Player of the Week this season and leads the Terriers with a 9-13 record at No. 1 singles.
