Terriers Break Four School Records at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Boston University men's and women's track and field teams combined to break four school records at the prestigious Penn Relays which concluded on Saturday in Philadelphia.
Both the men's and women's 4x200 meter relay teams broke the school record on Friday in heat racing and advanced to Saturday's finals. Both teams then broke the records again competing in the finals on Saturday. In their final event of the meet, the women's 4x400m relay team broke the school record and finished sixth. In addition, on Friday the women's shuttle hurdle team also broke the school record in the finals and finished in third place overall.
Overall, the Terriers combined for seven top-ten finishes competing against some of the top college programs in the country.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Competing in their final event of the meet on Saturday night, the women's 4x400m relay team of Ayodele Adesanya, Leah Fowlkes, Djenne Parris and Toria Levy finished with a blistering time of 3:34.30 to break the school record of 3:36.73 the foursome set at the Texas Relays on April 1st. The Terriers finished sixth behind only Oregon, Oklahoma, UTech, Virginia and Middle Tennessee.
- The men's 4x100m relay team of Justin Flynn, Chiebuka Onwuzurike, Cameron Williams and Cameron Nurse advanced to the finals after finishing eighth in heat racing on Friday in a deep and very talented field of 71 teams. In the finals on Saturday, the team finished sixth with a time of 40.06 which is currently the top time in the Patriot League.
- The men's 4 x 1 mile relay team of Matti Groll, Paul Luevano, Ethan Homan and Alexander Seal had an excellent performance, coming in 11th in the finals with a time of 16.54:07.
- The women's 4x200m relay team of Leah Fowlkes, Toria Levy, Djenne Parris, Ayodele Adesanya broke the school record (set the previous day in heat racing) with a time of 1:35.95, to finish in fifth place.
- The men's 4x200m relay team also broke the school record on consecutive days. Justin Flynn, Chiebuka Onwuzurike, Cameron Williams and Cameron Nurse advanced to the finals with a record time of 1:24.03 in Friday's heat race. On Saturday, BU finished fourth in the finals with a time of 1:23.63, breaking the school record they set the previous day.
- On the women's side on Friday, the shuttle hurdle relay team of Kennedy Jones, Toria Levy, Ally Saccone and Tehya Noell broke a school record in the finals, finishing with a time of 55.72 and in third place overall.
- IN the field on the men's side, David Oluwadara competed in the triple jump and finished ninth with a 15.19m (50-10) effort.
- In the field on the women's side, Lovie Burleson finished seventh in the long jump with a 5.80m (19-0.5) effort, her best of the season and currently tops in the Patriot League.
- The women's record-breaking 4x200m relay team on Friday was made up of Leah Fowlkes, Ayodele Adesanya, Jordan Coverson and Ebony Brown. On Saturday the foursome changed to Fowlkes, Adesanya, Toria Levy and Djenne Parris, the same foursome who broke the 4x400m school record.

TOP PERFORMANCES AT SKYHAWK INVITITATIONAL
- On the men's side, Liam O'Connell finished fourth in the 800m run with a time of 1:54.03, a new personal best.
- On the women's side, Zoe Meinelschmidt won the javelin through with a 33.98m (111-06) effort.
- Christie Molloy finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 11.96m (39-03.00).
- Cynthia Aroke finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.13
