TRUJILLO, Peru - Incoming freshman Laura Parkinson of the Boston University women's track and field team claimed a silver medal at the Pan American U20 Championships on Sunday.
Parkinson, representing Canada, finished second in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:25.03. A native of London, Ontario, Parkinson helped her country record its best finish at a U20 Pan American Championships since 1984. Canada finished with 22 medals over three days of competition.
Parkinson will run cross country for the Terriers this fall before turning her attention to the indoor track and field season.
