MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RECAP

BOSTON - The Boston University men's track & field team hosted the John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU's Track and Tennis Center on Saturday. The Terriers competed against a very large and deep field made up of more than 1,500 student-athletes representing 80 teams including hundreds of post-collegiate athletes.

The Terriers were led by the 4x400m relay team of Haig Rickerby, Nikolas Smith, Cameron Nurse and Chiebuka Onwuzurike who finished first with a time of 3:13.29 in a field of 35. Sophomore Paul Luevano finished third among collegians in 3000m run with a time of 8:02.13, a new personal best and the top 3K time in the Patriot League this year.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

The 4x400m relay team Haig Rickerby, Nikolas Smith, Cameron Nurse and Chiebuka Onwuzurike finished first with a time of 3:13.29 in a field of 35 teams.
Earlier in the meet, senior Cameron Nurse finished ninth (third among collegians) in the 400m dash with a personal-best time of 48.46 in a field of 101 runners.
Sophomore Paul Luevano competed in the 3000m and finished third among collegians with a time of 8:02.13. Luevano's time is the best 3K run in the Patriot League this year by more than 16 seconds.
Senior Jordan Love qualified for the 60m dash finals by finishing ninth in the prelims with a time of 7:05. In the finals, Love took seventh (fifth among collegians) with a time of 7.16. Later in the meet, Love competed in the 200m dash and finished 19th with a time of 22.17.
.Freshman Tommy Quinn had a strong showing in the 800m run, finishing 24th in a field of 128 with a time of 1:53.90.
Sophomore Johnathon Kemps finished 38th in the 1-mile with a time of 4:09.81 in a large and deep field of 165 runners. Liam O'Connell also competed in the 1-mile and finished 56th with a time of 4:17.27.
In the field, senior Jason Biesma finished ninth in the pole vault with a 4.50m (14'09") effort.

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
With several world class post-graduate runners competing on Saturday, many notable performances were once again recorded at BU's Track & Tennis Center. In the men's 1-mile run, seven sub-four minute miles were run in the first heat.

Shadrack Kipchirchir, running for team Army WCAP, finished first with a time of 3:55.52 which stands as the second-fastest mile run in the nation this year. Justyn Knight of Syracuse finished second in the mile with a time of 3:55.82, which is the second-fastest NCAA mile run this season. Peter Callahan (Belgium - 3:57.14), Corey Bellemore (Canada – 3:57.20) and Hamish Carson (New Zealand – 3:57.76) rounded out the impressive top five.
