Terriers Face First Road Test Friday at Merrimack

The Boston University women's ice hockey team will play its first road game of the season on Friday night when the Terriers travel to Merrimack. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
This will be the first of a two-game weekend for the Terriers, as they will return to Walter Brown Arena on Saturday to host New Hampshire in the team's annual Mental Health Awareness Game in support of Do It For Daron. Game time for that tilt is 3 p.m.
LONE TREK OUT OF BOSTON THIS MONTH
- Friday's fixture is the Terriers' only game outside of Boston this month.
- The Terriers will host three straight contests at Walter Brown Arena before heading to Northeastern on Oct. 28.
- Six of the Terriers' next seven games will take place within the city limits.
HISTORY WITH THE WARRIORS
- The Terriers are 7-2-0 all-time against Merrimack, including a 5-1 victory at Lawler Rink on Jan. 25, 2018.
- BU is 3-1-0 against the Warriors in North Andover.
- The Terriers have never lost twice to Merrimack in a single season.
- BU has held Merrimack to a mere 1.50 goals per game at home.
BEST OF BU AGAINST THE WARRIORS
- Abby Cook leads the Terriers with seven points against the Warriors, including a team-high six assists.
- Four of those helpers came in the Terriers' 5-1 win at Merrimack on Jan. 25.
- Sammy Davis (2g, 1a) and Kristina Schuler (3a) each have three points against Merrimack while Reagan Rust, Breanna Scarpaci, Abbey Stanley and Natasza Tarnowski have all accumulated a goal and an assist against the Warriors.
- Deziray De Sousa and Nara Elia have each lit the lamp against Merrimack.
- Corinne Schroeder won both of her starts against Merrimack last year, posting a 1.06 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage in those two victories.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Merrimack moved to 3-0-1 after earning a 2-1 win and 1-1 tie at Penn State this past weekend.
- The Warriors began the season by sweeping a home series against Union.
- Senior goaltender Samantha Ridgewell has started all four games for Merrimack and boasts a .972 save percentage to go along with a 0.75 goals-against average.
- Senior Katelyn Rae leads the squad with five points and is tied with junior Mikyla Grant-Mentis for the team lead in goals with three.
- Freshman Gabby Jones has recorded a team-best three assists.
- Five different Warriors have lit the lamp this season.
LAST TIME AGAINST MERRIMACK
- The Terriers outshot the Warriors, 41-18, en route to a 6-1 victory on Jan. 27 at Walter Brown Arena.
- Kristina Schuler collected a career-best three assists.
- Abbey Stanley recorded a goal and an assist for a two-point afternoon.
- Abby Cook and Nara Elia each lit the lamp while Jesse Compher, Reagan Rust and Natasza Tarnowski each added an assist in the victory.
- Corinne Schroeder made 17 saves and did not allow an even-strength goal.
RECAPPING LAST WEEKEND
- BU opened its 2018-19 regular season this past weekend with a pair of home games against No. 9 Northeastern.
- The Terriers bounced back after a 5-0 loss on Friday to earn a point with a 3-3 tie on Saturday.
- Sophomore Jesse Compher and redshirt junior Sammy Davis each recorded a goal and an assist while sophomore Nara Elia also lit the lamp on Saturday.
- Freshmen Alex Allan and Courtney Correia each recorded their first collegiate assist while junior Abby Cook also collected an assist.
- Sophomore Corinne Schroeder made 35 saves on Saturday after she stopped 28 shots the previous night.
