WOMEN'S RESULTS | MEN'S RESULTS

BOSTON – Highlighted by a record-setting performance in the women's weight throw by senior Sarah Cicchetti and a combined eight top-five finishes, the Boston University men's and women's track & field teams opened their indoor season at the Track and Tennis Center on Saturday.

Sarah Cicchetti's toss of 56'8" (17.27m) in the weight throw broke the old BU record of 54'3.25" set by Chelsea Curry back in 2008. Junior Leah Fowlkes also had an outstanding performance, winning the 200m dash with a new personal-best time of 24.13.

In addition to the action on the track, a special ceremony was held during the meet commemorating the BU Season Opener being renamed the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in honor of the BU Hall of Famer and two-time Olympian.
