Hemphill Claims Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After helping the Boston University men's basketball team wrap up a six-game road trip with two victories, freshman Jack Hemphill has earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Hemphill becomes the third active Terrier to receive the honor after sophomore Walter Whyte was honored last January and junior Tyler Scanlon was recognized twice his rookie season.
A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Hemphill started off by draining two 3-pointers en route to 10 points in the 82-53 victory at New Hampshire. He reached double figures for the second time this season after posting a double-double (14 pts., 12 rebs.) against Emerson.
He then followed up with five rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer in the 65-58 come-from-behind win at Elon. His defensive efforts helped prevent the Phoenix from scoring a single second-chance point.
The Terriers will next return home and host UMass Lowell on Tuesday (Dec. 4) with a 7 p.m. start time.
