IRVINE, Calif. – Playing its fourth match in four days, the Boston University men's tennis team fell at UC Irvine, 7-0, on Friday afternoon.

Also owning a win earlier this week against Boston College, the Anteaters (5-7) won two doubles matches by a combined score of 12-2 and then captured all six singles points, including three in straight sets, to beat the Terriers (7-8).

MATCH NOTES

UCI posted a 6-1 win at lines 1 and 3 in doubles while also leading at line 2 (5-2) before the final match was halted.
Freshman Owen Lu won his first set in singles in the No. 2 slot, but Sasha Krasnov rallied for the 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win.
Freshman Pedro Gutierrez also won his first set at line 4 before ultimately falling, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Freshman Ethan Kolsky rallied to force a third set tiebreaker but came up just short, 6-3, 6-7, 10-7.
The Terriers were swept by an opponent for the second time this season.
