
Terriers Set for PL Championships

EASTON, Pa. - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will compete at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at Lafayette College's University's Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex.
The meet kicks-off on Friday with the women's 10,000-meter run beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 10,000-meter run at 9:45 a.m. Multi-events will begin at 10:45 a.m. with the women's heptathlon and field events will begin with the women's javelin starting at 11:00 a.m. The championships will conclude on Saturday afternoon with the women's and men's 4x400-meter relay, scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. and 5:25 p.m., respectively.
WOMEN'S OUTLOOK
• Last year at the PL outdoor championship, BU won six events on their way to a second-place finish behind Bucknell.
• Senior Tehya Noell leads the PL in the long jump with a 5.99m (19'8") mark and won gold in the event last season. Noell also has the second-best conference time in the 100m hurdles entering the weekend.
• Sophomore Leah Fowlkes leads the PL in the 400m dash with a time of 54.10 and is second in the 200m dash with a time of 24.48.
• Graduate student Ally Saccone will look to win gold in the 100m hurdles as she enters the meet with a PL best time of 13.84.
• The 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams will both look to medal with the Terriers holding the best 4x400m time in the conference (3:40.04) and the third-best 4x100 time (46.41).
• In the field, sophomore Gillian Morrison enters the championship with the second-best high jump at 1.68m (5'6") while junior Lovie Burleson is third in the long jump 5.85m (19.2.5")
• Junior Jordan Coverson will look to defend her PL title in the 400m dash after winning gold at last season's outdoor championship. Coverson currently is seeded third in the event with a time of 55.50.
• In all, the Terriers enter the championship meet with the top individual time or mark in five events. Leah Fowlkes (400m dash), Ally Saccone (100m hurdles), Tehya Noell (long jump), Gillain Morrison (heptathlon) and the 4x400m relay team are all the Patriot League top seeds.
• Bucknell will be shooting for its four-consecutive PL outdoor title.
MEN'S OUTLOOK
• On the men's side, the Terriers will look to improve upon their performance at last year's outdoor championships where they finished third behind Navy and Army West Point.
• The Terriers will be led once again by graduate student David Oluwadara, who will look to defend his triple jump title for the third-consecutive year. Oluwadara currently leads the Patriot League in the triple jump with a 16.21m (53'2.25") mark which also stands as the eighth-best triple jump in the nation this year.
• On the track, senior Cameron Nurse leads the conference in the 200m dash with a time of 21.03 and will also compete for the 4x100m relay team that is seeded number 1 with a conference leading time of 40.09.
• Sophomore Paul Luevano enters the championship with the best time in the 1500m meters with a time of 3.44.34 and is also the defending PL champion in the 5000m.
• The Terriers will also look for gold from both their 4x100m and 4x800m relay teams as both groups enter the championship with the leagues' best times.
• In all, the BU men enter the championship meet with the top time or mark in five events. Oluwadara (TJ), Nurse (200m), Paul Luevano (1500m run), 4x100m and 4x800m relays teams all have top times or marks.
• Navy will be looking for its fifth-consecutive outdoor PL track & field championship.

• Following the Patriot League Championships, BU will compete in the IC4A/ECAC New England Outdoor Championships on May 12-13.
