Oluwadara Wins Gold in Day One of PL Championships

DAY 1 RESULTS
EASTON, Pa. - The Boston University men's track & field team completed Day 1 of the Patriot League Championships at Lafayette on Friday. The day was highlighted by a gold medal performance in the long jump by David Oluwadara who finished first with a leap of 7.35m (24' 1.50").
FRIDAY'S TOP FINISHES
• Graduate student David Oluwadara won gold in the long jump on his final attempt, jumping 7.35 meters (24' 1.50") to finish first ahead of second-place Nicholas Lombardo from Bucknell (7.18m). Oluwadara will compete in the triple jump on Saturday looking for his third-consecutive triple jump title.
• Senior Justin Flynn had a terrific performance in the 100m dash prelims, finishing first with an incredible time of 10.39 to qualify for the finals on Saturday. Flynn's performance would have been a new Patriot League and BU record but the time was wind-aided (+3.9 mph). Flynn later qualified for the finals of the 200m dash with a fourth-place finish (21.24).
• Also competing in the 100m dash and qualifying for the finals were Jordan Love (10.44) and Chiebuka Onwuzurike (10.50).
• The 4x800m relay team of Haig Rickerby, Liam O'Connell, Tommy Quinn and Michael Huber finished fifth with a time of 7:42.48 to earn BU four points.
CURRENT STANDINGS
• With five events scored, the BU men are in fifth place with 14 points behind leader Navy with 56 points, Army (55), Bucknell (31) and Lehigh (19).
STILL TO COME
• Saturday will feature a full day of events beginning with the final three events of the heptathlon at 9:15 a.m. and concluding with the women's 4x400m final at 5:25 p.m.
