For the 11th straight year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Coming in at No. 5 in this year's Terrier 12 is the outstanding performance in the classroom by Boston University student-athletes this year as department GPA records were shattered.
For the third year in-a-row, Boston University surpassed its highest grade point average in department history, posting a 3.21 GPA amongst all 24 varsity programs. For the first time, the department earned above a 3.20 GPA for each semester, marking the first time the department has reached the threshold for both the fall and spring semester in one academic year.
Additionally, 20 teams earned a 3.0 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year for the first time. Women's tennis posted the highest team GPA with a 3.60 average.
118 student-athletes graduated between January and August, with 30 of those graduating with Latin Honors. In total, 275 eligible student-athletes received Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition, which is given to those who post a 3.20 or higher GPA, while 30 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA during either the fall or spring semester.
