The Boston University golf team will continue its fall season on Monday when the Terriers play the opening two rounds at the Boston College Intercollegiate at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts.
Monday's opening round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday's final round is slated to commence at 8 a.m., with the top three teams teeing off at 9:30 a.m. In addition to BU and the host Eagles, the competitive 17-team field features the College of Charleston, Albany, Quinnipiac, Richmond, South Carolina Upstate, St. John's, Fairleigh Dickinson, Siena, Hartford, Samford, Western Kentucky, Brown, Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's and Holy Cross.
BU has played two tournaments so far this fall, most recently the 36-hole Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15-16. The Terriers have yet to combine for an 18-hole score of 310 or higher, with their lowest total coming in the first round of the season-opening William & Mary Invitational. The team's score of 297 propelled them to a fourth-place performance on Sept. 9-10 in the 54-hole event.
Freshman Hanako Kawasaki made her collegiate debut at Dartmouth and fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish tied for 14th with senior Megan Carter at a score of 149. Junior transfer Annie Sritragul has the lowest average among her teammates that have played both tournaments this year at 7570, which includes a one-under 71 at William & Mary. That score helped her tie for ninth in her first tournament as a Terrier.
In addition to Sritragul and Kawasaki, juniors Zhangcheng Guo and Abby Parsons have also recorded a round at par or better. Parsons carded a career-low 70 (-2) at William & Mary while Guo notched a one-under 71 at the same event. All six Terriers who will tee off this week have recorded at least one round at 74 or lower, with all six averaging a score of 78.2 or lower.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Terriers, as following this week's event they will conclude their fall campaign at the 54-hole Yale Intercollegiate (Oct. 5-7).
