HOW IT HAPPENED
- A string of Terrier penalties led to a lengthy stretch of 5-on-3 time, and despite five saves by Tucker, UMass finally broke through to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
- Crotty got BU on the board at 8:42 of the second stanza with his first goal of the season. Curry chipped the puck off the boards to Farrance, who collected it in the neutral zone and skated over the UMass blue line. Farrance stopped on a dime and slid the puck to the trailing Crotty, who wristed the puck past Filip Lindberg (16 saves).
- Tucker and the Terrier penalty killers came up huge shortly after the equalizer, as they killed off a five-minute major to keep the game tied. Tucker made five saves during that stretch while Curry and freshman Robert Mastrosimone made a key block apiece to frustrate the Minutemen.
- Tucker made a spectacular save to keep the game tied early in the third period. UMass hammered the puck off from center ice into the BU zone. Tucker went out to play the puck, but it caromed off the end wall and right to Jeremy Davidson. The BU goalie quickly dove back to the front of the net and somehow denied Davidson.
- UMass took a 2-1 lead with 9:48 remaining in regulation and then added an insurance goal with 4:36 to play. The Minutmen tacked on an empty-netter to conclude the scoring.
- Tucker finished the weekend with 85 saves.
- Farrance has tallied six goals and three assists during his five-game point streak.
- Curry recorded three points (1g, 2a) this weekend.
- The Terriers successfully killed six UMass power plays on Saturday.
- BU will host Vermont for a two-game series at Agganis Arena on Nov. 22-23.
- Friday's tilt is schedule for 7:30 p.m., with the weekend finale on Saturday set for 4 p.m.
