Compher Named Hockey East Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Junior Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Compher was sensational for the Terriers as they went 3-0-0 this past week. She led the NCAA in goals (5), points (8) and points per game (1.67) in those three victories, highlighted by a two-goal, two-assist effort on Sunday in a 5-1 victory over Vermont. Compher began the week with two goals and an assist in a 6-2 win over No. 9 Harvard and then scored her second shorthanded goal in as many games on Saturday in a 3-2 overtime triumph at Vermont.
Since making her season debut on Nov. 9, Compher has notched six goals and three assists for nine points. She needs just four points to reach 100 for her career; Compher has tallied 32 goals and 64 assists for 96 points in 80 career games.
After the Terriers conclude the calendar year with a pair of games against rival Boston College on Dec. 6 and 7, Compher will join teammate Sammy Davis at the USA Hockey Winter Training Camp and look to earn a spot on her country's Rivalry Series roster.
