BOCA RATON, Fla. – After grinding out the doubles point, the Boston University men's tennis team captured four singles points to defeat the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), 5-2, on Thursday afternoon at the FAU Tennis Complex.
The Terriers (5-10) won two doubles matches and two of the six singles matches in straight sets, as the Blazers fell to 7-6.

- Ranked No. 47 nationally as a duo, Roman Postolka and Michal Lusovsky posted a 6-1 win at line 1 doubles, but BU won the other two matches for the first point.
- Sophomore Ethan Kolsky and freshman Max Stehling earned a 6-3 win at line 3, while junior J.P. Avila and freshman Max Hartenstein pulled out a 6-4 win in the No. 2 slot for the 1-0 advantage.
- Hartenstein carried momentum from his exciting doubles victory to a dominating 6-1, 6-2 performance at line 5 against the Blazers.
- Two other matches finished in straight sets with sophomore Pedro Gutierrez pulling out a 6-4, 7-6 win at line 6 and UAB finishing ahead in the No. 4 slot, 6-2, 6-3.
- The other three contests required a third set with sophomore David Bogatin rallying for a tightly-contested 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at line 2.
- Sophomore Pete Siozios held off a late charge at line 3 to claim a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 victory.
- Reigning Patriot League Player of the Week Owen Lu also rallied to force a third set in the top slot but came up short to Roman Postolka, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.
- BU will remain on FAU's campus and face the Bulldogs on Friday (March 15) at 2 p.m.
- The Bulldogs sit at 12-2 with a 2-1 mark this week in Florida featuring wins over Stetson (4-2) and FGCU (4-0) alongside a 4-0 loss at FAU.
