Terriers Finish Fourth at Patriot League Championships

RESULTS
WORCESTER, Mass. - Highlighted by a gold medal performance in the long jump by Jason Biesma and six medals overall, the Boston University men's track & field team finished fourth at the 2019 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championship which concluded Saturday at the College of the Holy Cross.
Biesma won gold in the long jump on Friday with a 7.19 meters (23'7.25") jump, new personal best. On Saturday, Biesma also won a bronze medal in the decathlon with 6,720 points, also a new personal best.
Overall the Terriers won six medals and finished fourth as a team with 80 points, behind 2019 PL Champion Navy (289 points), Army (255) and Bucknell (94).

TOP FINISHES
• Graduate student Jason Biesma had an outstanding meet, winning gold in the long jump on Friday with a 7.19 meters (23'7.25") jump, new personal best.
• Biesma also won bronze in the two-day decathlon with 6,720 points, setting also a new personal best.
• Gregpry Pelose won bronze in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing third with an excellent time of 9:04.63 to set a new personal best.
• The 4x100m relay of Ebruba Etta, Chiebuka Onwuzurike, Nikolas Smith and Riley Sasaki team won bronze with a time of 40.94, just behind race winner Navy (40.39) and second place Army (40.45).
• Chiebuka Onwuzurike advanced to the finals of the 200m dash and finished second to win silver with a time of 21.37.
• Onwuzurike also advanced to the finals of the 100m dash and finished fourth with a time of 10.66 to earn BU five points.
• On Friday, Brett Davidson finished second in the 10,000m run with a time of 30:59.02 to win silver and earn the Terriers eight points in the team standings.
• The 4x800m relay team of Marcel Aubry, Michael Huber, Johnny Kemps and Haig Rickerby finished fourth with a time of 7:29.97.
• Paul Luevano finished first in the 1500m but was disqualified for interfering with Sean Brown of Lehigh. Brown was awarded the gold with a time of 3:45.72.
