TOLEDO, Ohio – Opening a two-match road trip to the Midwest, the Boston University men's tennis team came up just short at Toledo, 4-3, on Friday afternoon.
Now on a seven-match win streak, the Rockets (9-6) won two of three doubles contests for the first point and then claimed three singles points, including the final point in three sets, to edge the Terriers (3-6).

- All three doubles matches were decided by just two games apiece.
- Junior Ethan Kolsky and freshman Jon-Kyle Tan posted a 6-4 win at line 3, but the Rockets managed to win the top two matches by an identical score of 7-5.
- Toledo won in straight sets at lines 2 and 6 to extend its lead to 3-0.
- BU mounted a rally and captured three singles points in three sets.
- Junior David Bogatin dropped his first set in the top match but came back to defeat former Fairleigh Dickinson transfer and All-NEC honoree Danilo Vukotic, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
- Sophomore Max Hartenstein toughed out a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory at line 3, while junior Pete Siozios overcame a second set stumble to prevail 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
- Junior Pedro Gutierrez won the first-set tiebreaker but was broken one too many times in the final two sets for a hard-fought 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-4 loss.
- The Terriers will next travel to Ann Arbor to face off against the Big 10's Wolverines on Sunday (March 1) with a 4 p.m. start.
- BU is 0-1 this season vs. ranked teams with a 5-0 loss at then-No. 14 Harvard.
