Di Battista Earns ITA Tennis Top-100 National Ranking

BOSTON – After claiming her third straight Patriot League Player of the Week award, Boston University women's tennis freshman Erica Di Battista received even more exciting news this week, as she earned a spot in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Division I Women's Singles Rankings.
The ITA's announcement marks the highest BU has had an individual recognized since both Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis and Jessi Linero placed No. 67 in doubles during the 2012 season. Three-time PL Player of the Year Johanna Hyoty was ranked No. 122 for two weeks during the 2014-15 season. Di Battista currently sits at 100 out of 125 in the list, which was released for the first time in 2020. The next update will come out in two weeks.
Di Battista is a combined 13-1 in singles with a 4-0 record in dual action. She most recently rolled past Syracuse's then-No. 64 Guzal Yusupova, 6-3, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. Following the defeat, Yusupova now sits at No. 76.
BU will next take to the court on Saturday (Feb. 8) when it hosts Rhode Island at the Mount Auburn Club with a 3 p.m. start time.
