Women's Rowing Concludes Head of the Charles with Four Top-11 Finishes

BOSTON – Led by a fourth-place finish in the championship fours event, the Boston University women's rowing team concluded the 56th annual Head of the Charles Regatta with all four boats claiming top-11 results.
Coxed by freshman Audrey Lucerne and stroked by junior Tiare Hicks, the Terriers' championship four boat posted an impressive time of 18:32.591 to beat Syracuse by 10 seconds and Radcliffe by 22 seconds. BU's time was the second-fastest set by a collegiate crew with Brown recording a time of 18:15.731. The U.S. Training Center crew based in Princeton (N.J.) led all 14 boats at 17:47.469 with Vesper taking second at 17:59.324. The Terriers last raced in the event in 2018 and took 16th.
In the other Sunday afternoon race, the championship eight boat coxed by senior Mia Ball and stroked by junior Kat Robbins placed 11th overall at 16:38.762 with the 10th-fastest collegiate time. BU finished ahead of several notable top boats, including crews from Tennessee, Radcliffe, Minnesota, Dartmouth and Northeastern after posting the 18th-fastest collegiate time in 2019.
On Saturday, BU finished seventh in the club four event and 10th in the club eight race.
The Terriers are next scheduled to compete in the Foot of the Charles on Saturday, Nov. 13.
