The Boston University women's ice hockey team will head to Connecticut on Friday night to begin a home-and-home series with UConn at 6 p.m. The teams will then face off at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday at 3.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are the only team with an unbeaten record in league play, sitting at 4-0-3 after a 2-1 win at Providence on Sunday.
- That triumph extended their unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1).
- Senior Courtney Correia was named Hockey East Player of the Month on Monday after finishing October with six goals and 11 points, both of which are first on the Terriers and second in the league.
- Junior Julia Nearis is third in Hockey East with 10 points thanks to four goals and a six assists.
- Both Nearis and senior Mackenna Parker have notched a team-best six helpers.
- Senior Kate Stuart has allowed just one goal in each of her last three starts.
- She owns a 0.97 goals-against average and a .962 save percentage during that span.
- The Terriers have gone 11-for-11 on the penalty kill during their three-game unbeaten streak.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- UConn is off to an excellent start to the season, owning an 8-1-0 record.
- The Huskies' lone loss came this past Friday, a 3-0 home defeat to Merrimack.
- They bounced back with a 2-1 win over Vermont on Saturday.
- Graduate student Natalie Snodgrass leads UConn with eight points thanks to three goals and five assists.
- Senior Viki Harkness leads the Huskies with five goals while graduate student Taylor Wabick is tops on the team with seven assists.
- Senior goaltender Samantha Carpentier-Yelle has started seven of the Huskies' nine games this year, posting a 1.87 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
HISTORY WITH THE HUSKIES
- BU is 29-12-7 all-time against the Huskies, including a 13-6-4 record at Freitas Ice Forum and a 15-6-3 record at Walter Brown Arena.
- The Terriers went 3-0-0 against UConn during the 2019-20 season and are 6-1-3 against the Huskies over the last four campaigns, with that one loss coming last season in Storrs.
- Dating back to a victory over the Huskies in the 2010 Hockey East title game, BU is 26-3-4 against UConn.
