
Terriers Take Third at Sacred Heart Invitational

MILFORD, Conn. - The Boston University golf team finished third at the Sacred Heart Invitational on Monday at Great River GC.
BU combined for a score of 607 (306-301) at the 36-hole event, which was just one shot back of second-place St. John's and 11 shots behind champion Boston College. BU had the second best score of the day on Monday. This is the third top-three finish in as many tries for the Terriers to start the season, as they were victorious at the FDU Invitational and the Hartford Invitational.
Junior Hanako Kawasaki led the Terriers with a score of 149 (75-74) and tie for seventh thanks to five birdies over the two-day event. Kawasaki played Sunday's back nine at one-under. Sophomore Alice Fan sank two birdies on Monday to shoot an even par 72 and tie for 12th with a 36-hole total of 151 (79-72).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Monica Yu tied for 15th with a score of 153 (79-74). Yu was two-under through her first 13 holes on Monday thanks to four birdies. Freshman Flair Kuan also tied for 15th after rounds of 77 and 76. Graduate student Zhangcheng Guo carded a 154 (75-79) to tie for 19th while sophomore Kristen Min Ju Kim tied for 57th with a score of 168 (86-82).
BU will return to competition on Thursday when the Terriers host Holy Cross for a medal-play event at Thorny Lea in Brockton.
