Lightweights to Race Wisconsin on Saturday, at Holy Cross on Sunday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's lightweight rowing team will continue its 2021 spring season on the Charles River on Saturday when they face off against the Wisconsin Badgers. The V8 race is scheduled for 8:00am on Saturday followed by the 2V8 at 8:10am.
The last time BU faced Wisconsin the Terriers defeated the Badgers at the 2019 IRA National Championship Regatta. BU finished third in the grand final with a time of 6:40.46 while Wisconsin finished fourth in 6:43.10. BU also finished second at IRAs in team points with 64 to finish as National Runners-up to Stanford while Wisconsin finished third in team points with 57. The two crews are scheduled to face each other again at the IRAs on May 28-29.

This will be just thew second race for Terriers this spring season. The Terriers opened their spring season by racing against openweight boats from Boston College on April 10. The Terriers' varsity eight boat finished second behind the BC V8 but well ahead of the BC 2V8. Both the BU varsity four and the doubles boat defeated BC by open water.
