
Terriers Conclude Season at NCAA Northeast Regional Championship

BRONX, N.Y. – The Boston University women's cross country team concluded its season with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday. Sophomore Daisy Liljegren led BU with a 10th-place finish in the 6K race and earned USTFCCCA All-Region Status for her performance.
The Terriers totaled 390 points as the second Patriot League team to finish the event. They were just 14 points back of Army West Point who finished 13th. Syracuse took second with 91 points and Providence won the event with 71 points in the 37-team event.
Liljegren remained in the top-10 for the entirety of the 6K race and ran a 20:47.9 as the first Terrier to cross the finish line. Her finish granted her USTFCCCA All-Region status which is awarded to the top 25 finishers in each regional race.
Next in for BU was freshman Vera Sjöberg (21:29.7) in 44th followed by grad student Meghan Convery (22:02.5) in 81st. Rounding out the scoring for the Terriers was freshman Addison Schmidt (22:48.3) in 125th and grad student Madeline Bachmann (22:51.9) in 130th. Also racing for BU was freshman Olivia Dodds with a time of 23:12.9.
The Terriers will look toward the start of the indoor track season which begins on Saturday, December 3. BU will open the season with the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at the Track & Tennis Center.
