Makoyawo Finishes 13th in 200-Meter Dash at NCAA Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Freshman Toby Makoyawo of the Boston University men's track & field team placed 13th in the 200-meter dash at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Racing in the second of four heats, Makoyawo drew the third lane and finished fourth in a time of 21.26 seconds. Eight sprinters finished under 21 seconds to reach the final with the last one coming in at 20.99.
Makoyawo's top time in the 200 this season was 20.73, which was good for first at the Patriot League Championships.
The 2022 Patriot League Male Rookie of the Year, Makoyawo finishes his first season at BU as the school-record holder in the 60-meter dash (6.64) and the PL champion in both the 60 and 200.
