EUGENE, Ore. - Sophomore Daisy Liljegren of the Boston University track & field team faced off against the nation's best on Thursday evening at Hayward Field and placed 19th in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Championships.

Liljegren, who earned Honorable Mention All-America honors, finished the race in 34:05.69, just shy of her personal record of 34.04.89. She finished ninth among East participants, one spot higher than her 10th-place finish at the preliminary meet two weeks ago. 

The Patriot League champion in the 10k, Liljegren completes an impressive debut season with the Terriers after transferring from Middlebury a year ago. She went from placing sixth on the team in the first cross country race of the season last fall to being the program's lone NCAA Championships qualifier in the spring.
