Men's Tennis Falls at No. 5 Michigan, 7-0

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Facing its first nationally-ranked opponent of the season, the Boston University men's tennis team fell at No. 5 Michigan, 7-0, on Sunday evening.
The 2022 NCAA quarterfinalist Wolverines (1-0) won two of the three doubles matches with an identical score of 6-1 and then claimed all six singles points in straight sets against the Terriers (0-2).
Sophomore Dion Loutas put in.a gritty performance, as he battled No. 16 nationally-ranked and three-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree Ondrej Styler to a 6-3, 6-3 decision. He also teamed with freshman Alejandro Licea in a No. 2 doubles match that saw the duo win a team-high three games, as Michigan led, 5-3, when play was halted.
Michigan had one other ranked singles player with No. 58 and blue-chip recruit Bjorn Swenson holding off sophomore Cole Knutsen, 6-2, 6-3.
The Terriers will next return from their trip to the Midwest and play a pair of matches on Saturday, Feb. 4. They will first face Merrimack in Haverhill, Massachusetts, beginning at 1 p.m. and then visit Stonehill for a 5 p.m. start time.
