HAVERHILL AND WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Following an extended break, the Boston University men's tennis team earned a doubleheader sweep over in-state foes Merrimack and Stonehill on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers (2-2) first dispatched the Warriors, 4-1, at the Cedardale Health and Fitness Center in Haverhill and then cruised to a 7-0 win against the Skyhawks (6-2) at The Weymouth Club.

Junior Jonah Dickson was a perfect 4-0 on the day to lead BU, earning a pair of singles wins in straight sets at line 3 while also teaming with sophomore Cole Knutsen for two doubles victories. Overall, the Terriers prevailed in nine of the 10 singles matches in straight sets with the lone loss being decided in a super tiebreaker. They also won four of the five completed doubles contests.

Knutsen had the most impressive singes win, blanking Stonehill's Donovan Rodrigues at line 5, while junior Ben Letzer dropped just one game in the same spot to Merrimack's Valentin Riveros.

BU will next play three matches on Feb. 11-12, first visiting Adelphi in Cumberland, Rhode Island, at 8:45 a.m. and then traveling to MIT at 6 p.m. The weekend will end at Brown with a 10 a.m. start.
