Prosser Awaits NCAA Bid as Terriers Wrap Season at NCAA Northeast Regionals

NEW YORK – The Boston University women's cross country team ran to a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Freshman Hannah Prosser led the Terriers with a top-five all-region performance in the women's 6K.

Prosser placed fifth overall with a personal best time of 19:58.1 to earn all-region distinction. Her finish is the best for the women's squad since 2008. Additionally, her time will likely qualify as an individual for the NCAA Championship next week in Virginia.

Behind Prosser was sophomore Vera Sjöberg in 26th with a time of 20:31.5. Three freshmen rounded out the scoring five in Adrienne Buettner-Cable (21:24.6) in 86th, Molly Kiley (21:43.7) in 112th and Abby Waddington (21:47.5) in 115th.

Also racing for the Terriers were sophomore Samantha Seabury (21:55.3) in 123rd and junior Alex Vellekoop (22:37.8) in 166th.

While Prosser awaits an at-large bid, the rest of the Terriers will transition to the indoor track season which begins on Dec. 2 with the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
