Sjöberg Tabbed PL Track Athlete of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Vera Sjöberg of Boston University women's track & field was named the Patriot League track athlete of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
Sjöberg competed in the mile at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday. She was originally supposed to be a rabbit but stayed in the race to finish in 4:41.80, a personal best. The sophomore moved up to fifth all-time in BU history in the mile with the performance.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native earns her third indoor accolade with the mention. She was named the rookie of the week twice during the 2022-23 indoor season.
Receiving an honorable mention was sophomore Peace Omonzane for her efforts in the triple jump. She jumped 12.62m (41' 5") to set the fourth-best distance in BU history in her Terrier debut.
