
Freshmen Lead BU in Season Opener

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Boston University women's cross country team opened its season at the Rothenberg XC Invitational on Friday. The Terriers ran a 3K and finished third at the meet behind Providence and URI.
BU was led by freshman Molly Kiley, who finished fourth overall with a time of 11:01.6. Next in for BU was freshman Kelly Jones (11:15.9), who finished eighth. The freshmen continued to lead the pack with Anna Fawcett placing 15th with a time of 11:31.3. Rounding out BU's scoring five were sophomore Alex Vellekoop (11:36.4) in 18th and freshman Kaitlyn Desio (11:38.8) in 20th.
Also racing for the Terriers were freshman Kelsey Niglio (11:43.4) in 24th, and sophomores Lily Borin (11:56.6), Rachel McKinnon (12:00.0) and Madeleine Finton (12:03.0).
The Terriers will be back in action on Sept. 16 when they travel to compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invite.
