BOSTON - The Boston University track & field teams competed in the Battle in Beantown meet at the TTC on Saturday. BU set four top-10 program marks and saw multiple personal best performances in its first home meet of 2024.

Top-10 Terriers

Sophomore Peace Omonzane set the second-best mark in BU history in the triple jump (12.90m (42' 4")). She is only behind BU Hall of Fame member Tahari James who set the school record of 13.42m (44' 0.25") in 2008. Omonzane was previously fourth on the list.
Senior Juliana Nakouzi set her first Top-10 Terrier mark in the Jarred Rome Shot Put Invitational with a throw of 14.61m (47' 11.25"). This moves her to third all-time in BU history.
Nakouzi continued her succesful day in the weight throw with a toss of 17.59m (57' 8"), making her fourth all-time.
Junior Cole Tucker threw for 16.68m (54' 8.75") in the Jarred Rome Shot Put Invitational to keep the tenth-best mark in BU history with the PR.

Notable Terriers

Senior Sam Dennerlein set a personal best mark in the Jarred Rome Shot Put Invitational with a throw of 16.29m (53' 5.5").
Junior Steven Franco cleared a personal best height in the pole vault at 4.15m (13' 7.25").
Senior Isabela Shepard took first in the 600m with a time of 1:33.93.
Freshman Kelly Jones ran to second place in the mile in her track debut with a time of 4:55.23 to place second.
Sophomore Freddy Collins ran to 4:03.90 in the mile to take second.
Senior Stuart Bladon also set a PR in the pole vault with a mark of 4.30m (14' 1.25").
