TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers opened their season with a dominant 7-1 win over Merrimack for three points in the Hockey East Standings.
- Graduate student Tamara Giaquinto led BU with two goals and an assist for three points while freshman Lola Reid also tallied three points with her first collegiate goal and two assists.
- Graduate Student Lindsay Bochna, junior Clara Yuhn, senior Ani FitzGerald and freshman Kaileigh Quigg each scored one goal. Quigg's was her first collegiate goal and Bochna's was her first as a Terrier.
- Junior Lilli Welcke and senior Christina Vote had two assists each while juniors Luisa Welcke, Maeve Carey and Maeve Kelly, freshman Keira Healey and graduate student Julia Shaunessy each had one. K. Healey's assist was the first point of her collegiate career.
- BU went 3-for-6 on the power play with both of Giaquinto's goals and Bochna's first as a Terrier finding the back of the net.
- The Terriers were also 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
- Vote played in her 100th career game in the win over Merrimack.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Terriers are 1-5-0 overall against Minnesota with a 0-4-0 record on the road.
- In the most recent meeting, BU won 6-5 in overtime on Dec. 16, 2016, at Walter Brown Arena.
- BU and Minnesota have played on Oct. 4 once before in 2014 when the Terriers lost 5-2 in Minneapolis.
- The first time the teams met in Minneapolis was Oct. 6, 2007, when BU fell 4-2.
- The Terriers and Gophers have met four times in the regular season and twice in the NCAA tournament.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
- Minnesota is 2-0 after sweeping 2024 Hockey East Champion UConn, winning 4-1 and 3-2 (OT).
- Minnesota's overtime win happened just 0:49 into extra time when redshirt senior Abbey Murphy scored the game-winner.
- Murphey is Minnesota's leading goal scorer with three. She also leads in points with four.
- No other Gopher has scored multiple goals this season but four have scored at least once.
- Goaltender Skylar Vetter started both games for Minnesota, amassing 20 saves in two wins.
