Track & Field Prepares for Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

BOSTON – The Boston University track & field program is set to kick off the indoor season with the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at the Track & Tennis Center Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. and being broadcast live on FloTrack.

The Track & Tennis Center will host some of the top athletes in the world during the distance events at night, while 30 Terriers are getting their indoor seasons underway, including 10 freshmen who will wear the arch Boston for the first time.

During the meet, we will honor the late Sharon Colyear-Danville '83, who recently passed away. The two-time Olympian and BU Hall of Famer's legacy will be honored with a ceremony at approximate 11:45 a.m. with her husband of 43 years Bob Danville and their two sons, Reid and Neil Danville, in attendance along with alumni and current team members.

Indoor Track & Field - Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener (Track & Tennis Center) - 10 a.m.
Parking is available at the event rate of $12 in the Langsam Garage (LOT B) located at 142 Gardner St., Boston, MA 02215. Overflow parking is available at the Essex Street Garage & Lot (LOT F) located at 148 Essex Street, Brookline, MA 02446.

The men's and women's 3,000m and 5,000m races will feature top runners from across the country who recently completed their cross country seasons. Additionally, professional runners from across the globe will be looking to take down national records at the meet.
