Men's Tennis Earns DH Sweep with Wins over MIT, Stonehill

CAMBRIDGE and WALTHAM, Mass. – Extending their win streak to five matches, the Boston University men's tennis earned a doubleheader sweep with victories over MIT and Stonehill Saturday evening.
The Terriers (5-2) first visited MIT in Cambridge and came away with a 6-1 victory by capturing the doubles point along with five singles points. They then earned a 7-0 win over Stonehill at the Waltham Tennis Club.
Sophomores Corey Craig (#1), Jakob Esterowitz (#2) and Alejandro Licea (#3) all went a perfect 2-0 in singles action with straight set victories. Esterowitz dropped the fewest games of the trio at six total. During doubles play, Craig teamed with Esterowitz for a No. 2 doubles win over Stonehill, while Licea earned a No. 2 victory at MIT alongside senior Johann Sajonz.
In other singles matches, freshman Gustavs Dambins (#6) and senior Jonah Dickson (#4) won in straight sets against MIT. Junior Cole Knutsen (#4), junior Dion Loutas (#5) and Sajonz (#6) then rolled in straight sets against the Skyhawks.
The Terriers will next host Bentley at the Track & Tennis Center on Sunday (Feb. 11) with the Senior Day ceremony set to begin shortly before the 10:45 a.m. start time.
