
Terriers Notch Top-10 Program Marks at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON - The Boston University women's track & field team competed in day one of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday to close out the regular season. The Terriers recorded four top-ten program marks and 11 top-five event placements at the meet.

Top 10 Terriers
- Sophomore Kate Edenson ran a 2:08.88 in the 800m to post the fourth-fastest time in BU history with the 3" PR.
- In the triple jump, sophomore Peace Omonzane jumped 12.97m (42' 6.75") to keep the second-best mark in BU history with the improvement.
- Sophomore Madison Sorrell broke into the top performers list in the shot put and is now tenth all-time with a throw of 12.97m (42' 6.75").
- Senior Juliana Nakouzi keeps the fifth-best all-time mark in the weight throw with her PR of 17.62m (57' 9").
- Junior Asia Hamilton jumped 5.67m (18' 7.25") in the long jump to take fourth and 1.65m (5' 5") in the high jump to place third.
- Placing fourth in pole vault was freshman Abigail Wagner with a jump of 3.62m (11' 10.5").
- Sophomore Ijeoma Ezechukwu placed fifth in the open 60m dash with a 7.86 and 53rd in the 200m with a 25.57.
- Junior Jamie Chamberlain ran a 9.17 in the open 60m hurdles to place fourth.
- In her true season debut, junior Emma Lawrence jumped 11.85m (38' 10.5") in the triple jump to place fifth.
- Nakouzi took first in the shot put with a throw of 14.10m (46' 3.25").
- Sophomore Vera Sjöberg ran 4:39.30 in the mile to place 29th in a field of over 300 runners.
- Sjöberg also ran 9:26.09 in the 3,000m which is currently the fastest time in the Patriot League.
- Junior Emma Lawrence jumped 11.85m (38' 10.5") in the triple jump for the fourth-best current mark in the Patriot League.
- LSU's Michaela Rose ran a 1:59.49 in the 800m to set the facility record and the second-fastest all-time mark in the NCAA.
- Thirty women ran sub-4:40 in the mile.
- NC State's men's DMR team ran the third-fastest time in the event this year with a 9:37.96 effort.
