Lightweight Rowing Set For Annual Beanpot Against Radcliffe, MIT

BOSTON – In its final race on the Charles River for the 2024 spring season, the Boston University lightweight rowing program takes part in the traditional Beanpot, facing off against Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT on Saturday (April 20).
Radcliffe will air the races on ESPN+, beginning with the Doubles race at 8:12 a.m. An international stream is also available, courtesy of Harvard Athletics.
The Terriers seek out their seventh-consecutive Beanpot title in the Varsity 8. BU has won every Beanpot hosted since 2016.
Last weekend, the Terriers competed in a weather-shortened Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in New Jersey. BU won the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Trophy with a win in the Lightweight 8 event. Overall, the Terriers won six heats across their 10 entries, and placed top-three in the finals of the Lightweight 8, Varsity 8, and Second Varsity 8.
Radcliffe and MIT also competed at the Knecht Cup in its most recent races. Radcliffe's Varsity 8 and Lightweight 4 claimed first-place finishes on Sunday (April 14). In addition to its Double winning its respective heat, MIT boasted fourth-places results in the 2x, Lightweight 4, and Lightweight 8, and fifth in their Second Varsity 4 heat.
Following Saturday's racing, the Terriers are idle until the Eastern Sprints on Sunday (May 5) on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
