
Tan Named PL Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Joins Carlsten on Academic All-PL Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Kaitlin Tan of the Boston University women's tennis team was selected as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Friday. She joins fellow senior Victoria Carlsten on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Tan went 23-10 in singles overall, boasting a 13-6 dual record and a 4-0 record in league play. She also picked up 16 doubles wins, three of which came against Patriot League opponents. Tan is majoring in Human Physiology and boasts a 3.75 GPA. This is her first scholar-athlete selection.
Carlsten went 21-10 in singles overall, 13-6 in dual matches and 5-0 in league play. She notably defeated her opponent at No. 55 FAU to help BU upset the ranked foes. She also won 16 doubles matches mostly at line three, winning 12 matches at that line. The senior makes her first appearance on the academic team and is pursuing a degree in computer engineering with a 3.56 GPA.
